Accused preacher often used sexual imagery

ATLANTA, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Atlanta megachurch pastor Eddie Long, now facing sex charges from four young men, once preached, "The job of the preacher is to bring fresh sperm".

That sermon, recorded on video in the 1990s, is one of many statements on sexuality by the founder of New Birth Missionary Church reported by CNN.

Since his initial response to lawsuits asserting that he forced men into sex, Long and his church have refused comment.

"The word of God is potent. The word of God is His sperm," Long preached. "The job of the preacher is to bring fresh sperm and when he speaks it, the womb -- the church -- is to take it in and say, 'Sho' you're right'".

Long opposes homosexuality, but in his 1998 book, "I Don't Want Delilah, I Need You!" he puts some of the blame on women.

"In a society where little boys are exposed to grubby, cursing, dirty, cigarette-smoking road construction worker women, is it any wonder they stop chasing women and start chasing men?" he wrote.
