Asst. principal: officials want me fired

FORT WORTH, Texas, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- A suspended Texas assistant principal who filed wrongdoing complaints at his high school says district administrators told him they will recommend he be fired.

"The Fort Worth Independent School District has taken this action against me in retaliation for reporting violations of law that included the falsifying of student attendance records; the disparate treatment of students based on race; the illegal use of booster club funds; the inappropriate conduct of school officials with students ... all with the knowledge of senior district officials," Joseph Palazzolo said.

The district and the state agency responsible for public education investigated Arlington Heights High School after Palazzolo's complaint.

The district's investigation is complete, but its findings are not disclosed, Superintendent Melody Johnson told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Palazzolo, who said his firing will be voted on at next week's board meeting, said administrators told him they would recommend his dismissal because he failed to disclose his criminal history when applying for his job in 2007.
