NEW YORK, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- The man who left an explosives-laden vehicle in New York's Times Square, hoping to detonate it on a busy night, goes to court Tuesday for sentencing.
In New York, U.S. District Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum is expected to agree to the prosecution's request to imprison Faisal Shahzad, a University of Bridgeport-educated accountant, for the rest of his life, the Bridgeport Connecticut Post reported.
The Pakistani-born terror suspect says he's been "trying to join my brothers ever since 9/11 (terror attacks on the United States) happened. I am planning to wage an attack inside America," WCBS-TV, New York, reported.
Officials said Shahzad, 30, has never repented or expressed remorse about his actions since his arrest two days after the May 1 bombing attempt, the Post said.
