DENVER, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- A bomb squad checking a car parked at a Colorado detention facility for explosives found a dead body instead and arrested the car's owner, authorities said.
Robert L. Johnson, 40, was at the Arapahoe County Detention Center in Centennial to turn himself in on a warrant for a minor crime, The Denver Post reported.
While talking to officers, Johnson said something that suggested there might be explosives in his car, Capt. Vince Line of the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office said.
The building was evacuated and the bomb squad called in.
After the bomb squad determined there were no explosives, officers found an apparent homicide victim in the car's trunk.
Johnson is being held without bail on a charge of first-degree murder.
