A Saudi father killed his own 17-year-old son, dumped his body in a deserted water well and went straight to the authorities to report his son is missing, the Saudi Arabic language daily Almadina reported on Tuesday.
The 56-year-old father from the western town of Yanbu strangled his son with the help of his own mother and threw him into the well before going to the police to ask them to search for his missing son, the paper said.
Police arrested several suspects but they later released them after a lawyer for one of them demanded the interrogation of the dead boy’s parents.
“The mother then collapsed and confessed to the murder…the father later confessed,” the paper said without mentioning the reason for the crime.
