Two pairs of lovers were out walking in the forest near Krasnaya Elan village when a storm started.They ran home, but were struck by lighting on the open road.
The 22 year old woman, and a mother of a five-month-old baby, died with her boyfriend, 28 died on the spot. The woman was hit by lighting directly while her boyfriend was thrown away by the blast, and died from the impact.
The second bolt of lightning nearly killed their friends. The couple managed to get home and tell people about the accident, Life News reported.
The prosecutor’s office is conducting an inquiry.
It is the second time people have been killed by lightning this year in the Tyumen region. On June, 18, 2010 an 80-year old man was killed during a storm on the shore of Maloye lake.
